In case you haven’t heard the news lately, boxing great Oscar De La Hoya is returning to the ring for the first time since 2008. His opponent will be none other than former UFC champion Vitor Belfort. And no this isn’t an exhibition anymore; this fight will count on their respective professional records.
Belfort hasn’t boxed professionally since the mid-2000s and hasn’t fought in any sort of combat sport since he was knocked out by Lyoto Machida in 2018. De La Hoya was chasing an MMA fighter for his comeback bout and he’s found his foe in the form of the faded ‘Phenom.’ (Say the latter part of that sentence five times fast)
