Saturday’s blockbuster UFC 264 card is down a fight.

The preliminary card opener between Alen Amedovski and Hu Yaozong has been scratched due to COVID-19 protocols within Amedovski’s camp (aka someone likely tested positive). ESPN’s Marc Raimondi first reported the news.

Amedovski (8-2) has yet to win in the UFC and indeed hasn’t even competed for nearly two years. His last fight was a KO loss to John Phillips, and preceding that was an unsuccessful debut against Krzyzstof Jotko.

Hu (3-2) hasn’t competed since 2018 and is one of the rare fighters who started out at heavyweight and is going to middleweight. He lost his Octagon debut to Cyril Asker, then dropped to light heavyweight and was defeated by Rashad Coulter.

UFC 264 will proceed with 12 fights, although you can expect the early prelims to start a little bit later than planned. The July 10th card is headlined by the lightweight trilogy matchup between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor, and will feature a full house of fans at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
