It’s only been a matter of weeks since the amazing news that organizers have managed to convince Andre Galvao to return and defend his superfight title at ADCC 2022, and now the event has had the location, dates, and pricing announced. As was originally revealed for the 2021 edition before the event was postponed, the ADCC World Championships will take place in Las Vegas and the venue has been confirmed as the Thomas and Mack Arena.
One of the most impressive factors surrounding the venue is the sheer size, as the arena has a maximum capacity of 10,000 people and ADCC 2019 managed to sell out a 4,000 capacity venue at the time. As always, the event will take place over a two-day period and has been scheduled for September the 17th and 18th. The prices for attendance vary from $30 to $300 for the whole weekend, depending on seating location.
The Danaher Death Squad gets shut down at F2W 175
Usually when John Danaher takes a handful of his elite competitors to ply their trade at an event, they manage to come out on top. Unfortunately for the Puerto Rico residents, Fight 2 Win 175 saw both Oliver Taza and Ethan Crelinsten on the losing end of judge’s decisions. The pair fought in the against Hiago Adao and Gabriel Sousa respectively, with Crelinsten vs. Sousa serving as the main event.
Adao was competing in front of his home crowd in Charlotte, North Carolina and the F2W veteran shut down Taza’s leglock game expertly and although the match was incredibly close, the judges gave him the nod. Sousa on the other hand was far more decisive in victory and put on one of the most exciting performances of the night despite the fact that he wasn’t able to get the finish against Crelinsten.

Kyle Boehm earns his shot against Mason Fowler at SUG 24
Submission Underground 24 represented a significant change of pace for Chael Sonnen’s grappling promotion as there was only one superfight on the card, where Amanda Loewen successfully defended the women’s absolute title against Raquel Canuto in EBI overtime. The rest of the card was filled out with eight elite competitors fighting it out to earn $10,000 and the right to challenge Mason Fowler for the men’s absolute title at SUG 25.
After coming up against three incredibly tough opponents in Renato Tagliari, Tanner Weisgram, and Pedro Marinho, it was 10th Planet’s Kyle Boehm who emerged victorious. Boehm showed off his leglock game early on by locking up heel hooks in both of his first matches and booking his place against Marinho in the final. That match was much closer, although Boehm is an expert in EBI overtime and managed to get the win there instead.

BJJ Bet announces stacked card for upcoming event
Despite still being a fledgling promotion, BJJ Bet has maintained their commitment to putting on star-studded events before they even hit their first anniversary. The headline match alone will be well worth the price of admission as ADCC world champion Felipe Pena gets the opportunity to avenge one of his most recent losses against two-time IBJJF world champion Nicholas Meregali.
Not only will they have another seven fantastic superfights but they’ve also arranged a no gi grand prix between eight tough competitors. Not only will the grand prix feature some established veterans like Lucas ‘Hulk’ Barbosa, Leandro Lo, and Vagner Rocha, but they’ve also managed to secure a pair of young prodigies in Dream Art’s Mica Galvao and Brazilian Fight Factory’s William Tackett to add an unpredictable factor.
