Anthony Pettis (24-12) hasn’t had much luck since leaving the UFC in 2020.
The former UFC lightweight champion has gone 0-2 under the PFL banner since signing with the Professional Fighters League last year.
‘Showtime’ most recently fought at PFL 6 where he dropped a controversial split decision loss to Raush Manifo (13-3) at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J. on Friday. Pettis’ ‘sloppy’ 2021 PFL debut saw him drop a unanimous decision loss to Clay Collard. Prior to signing with PFL, the Duke Roufus product was on a two-fight win streak against Donald Cerrone and Alex Morono.
Headlining the show was Olympic gold medalist and undefeated women’s lightweight prospect Kayla Harrison, who extended her record to a perfect 10-0 after submitting Cindy Dandois (16-7) in the first round. The Judo black belt is one of the hottest new commodities in women’s mixed martial arts and, despite only making her debut in 2018, believes she is ready to take on the best fighters in the world and potentially sign with the UFC.
