It looks like The Last Emperor isn’t ready to hang up his gloves just yet.

Bellator will be doing a press conference tomorrow morning to announce the return of heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko, who will fight in October. Ariel Helwani broke the news on Twitter:

As mentioned, he does not have an opponent named as of yet. Emelianenko (39-6, 1 NC, 3-2 Bellator) has competed sporadically over the past few years, and made the finals of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix before falling to Ryan Bader in early 2019. He rebounded with a TKO win over a listless Quinton Jackson in late 2019, and has been inactive since. Until now.

While there’s no one on the current Bellator heavyweight roster right now that would seem like an ideal choice to promote a big fight with Fedor, there are some free agents out there that could be interesting. Maybe Junior dos Santos? That would be fun. A rematch 15 years in the making with Mark Hunt could be too. Wanderlei Silva anyone?

We’ll see what Fedor has to say at the presser tomorrow.
