Throughout the telecast, our host, Matt Ryan & new co-host, Brendan Sokler, (plus Producer, Shakiel Mahjouri) will bring you every single important bit of violence, as Israel Adesanya returns to action to defend his UFC Middleweight title against Marvin Vettori! Please join us and be sure to subscribe to Combat Culture on YouTube.
The UFC showcases TWO TITLE FIGHTS! It’s going to be an all out battle for the belts between fight veterans Israel Adesanya vs. Marvin Vettori 2 in the main event and Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno 2 in the co-main event. The UFC 263 PPV event is being broadcast by ESPN+ from the Gila River Arena, Glendale, Arizona – with a full capacity live crowd.
Returning to the octagon for that main event, we have #4 ranked, Israel ‘The Last Stylebender’ Adesanya, entering the bout with a remarkable 20-1 record, widely regarded as one of the best strikers in MMA, coming off a Unanimous Decision loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259. Adesanya will be banging it out in this title fight against power striker Marvin ‘The Italian Dream’ Vettori – for the second time around. Vettori is also now the #3 ranked Middleweight in the division and is entering the bout with his impressive, 17-3 record. He’s on a five-fight win streak against the likes of Kevin Holland, Jack Hermansson, Karl Roberson, Andrew Sanchez and Cezar Ferreira.
In the co-main event, we have a Flyweight rematch bout between our current UFC Flyweight Champion, ‘Deus Da Guerra’ Deiveson Figueiredo, and his contender, ‘The Assassin Baby’ Brandon Moreno. Ferguson is coming at this on a five-fight win streak, defeating Alex Perez, Cody Garbrandt, Joseph Benavidez (twice), Tim Elliott, and Alexandre Pantoja, with a current astounding 20-1 record, Meanwhile, Moreno, a BJJ & Muay Thai specialist, is ranked #1 in the division and on a four-fight win streak over Brandon Royval, Jussier Formiga, Kai Kara-France, and Maikel Pérez. He is coming at this bout with an impressive 18-5 record.
Also on the card, we have a Welterweight bout taking place between the #3 ranked Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards, with his 18-3 record, on an eight-fight win streak, having defeated RDA, Gunnar Nelson, Donald Cerrone, Peter Sobotta, Bryan Barberena, Vicente Luque, Albert Tumenov, and Dominic Waters; who is matched up against the returning Nate Diaz, sporting a 20-12 record, who is tied with Joe Lauzon for the second most UFC bonus awards, with 15 in total. However, Diaz has not fought a single bout since losing to Jorge Masvidal over the BMF Title back at UFC 244 back in November, 2019, and is expected by fight experts to either lose this fight badly or shock the crowd with an unexpected win.
In addition to that, we have what will be a downright fun match-up between Welterweight Veteran fighters, Demian Maia (28-10) and Belal ‘Remember the Name’ Muhammad (18-3). Belal has won his last four bouts; but Maia has a damn good chance at taking this victory. It really could go either way.
These bouts will have been preceded by our featured main card opener between Paul ‘Bearjew’ Craig and Jamahal ‘Sweet Dreams’ Hill, in addition to an extensive nine-bout undercard. What a wild night full of fights we have to share with you!
