UFC 263 record rundown: Can Nate Diaz beat the odds again?
Bloody Elbow 2.0 | Anton Tabuena

At some point Nate Diaz probably just stopped looking at the odds of his fights.

Diaz is a significant underdog (currently -650) heading into Saturday’s UFC 263 fight card where he faces Leon Edwards in a five-round welterweight scrap. Unless something ridiculous happens, Saturday will mark the eighth straight (via BestFightOdds) time Diaz makes the walk to the octagon as the underdog. The last time Diaz was a favorite was his 2013 matchup against Josh Thomson and Thomson won that fight via knockout. In the seven fights since that loss, Diaz is 4-3.

Edwards, who is unbeaten in his past nine fights, was the favorite in seven of those outings. Edwards was an underdog to Vicente Luque and Albert Tumenov. He defeated Luque via decision and Tumenov by submission. The last time Edwards lost was 2015 when a pre-champion Kamaru Usman beat him via unanimous decision.

Diaz didn’t mince words when it came to the odds and those who are picking Edwards to continue his unbeaten streak over the man who ranks third in all-time UFC fight night bonuses.

“That’s how my whole career has gone and been,” Diaz told ESPN. “If you ain’t got nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all, because that’s how I work, anyway. I don’t got nothing nice to say, I keep my predictions and all that s—t to myself, because all those guys that are (predicting) me losing, they’re not s—t themselves.”

Below is a look at where Edwards and Diaz appear in the UFC record book ahead of UFC 263.

UFC 263 takes place on June 12 at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The main card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+ and early prelims on ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass.
