After his highly-publicized split with Diego Sanchez, controversial guru Joshua Fabia threw out several allegations. One of them was against the UFC and Nevada State Athletic Commission, claiming that they wanted Sanchez to throw his UFC 239 fight against Michael Chiesa in 2019.
The UFC could file a defamation lawsuit against Fabia if they wanted to. But according to company president Dana White, there is no point in doing so.
“I don’t think he does (damage the UFC’s reputation),” White told TUF 1 alum Mike Swick on the Real Quick podcast. “That guy’s such a f—ng goofball that, I mean, I don’t know how anybody… Seriously, if you take anything that guy says serious, you should be f—ng beat with a stick. It’s almost like, if the source was somebody that was even remotely credible, yeah, I probably (would).
“I could give a flying f—k what that guy says. That guy is an absolute f—ng goofball. I think the kid is mentally ill. So should I fire up the lawyers for a mentally ill f—ng goofball? It’s just a complete waste of time. So, no.”
For his part, Sanchez is also taking the high road and chooses not to fire back on Fabia’s accusations against him.
