Former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan seems to be embracing the role of heel since his controversial disqualification loss to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 259, which saw ‘Funk Master’ become the first fighter in UFC history to win a title by DQ.
Yan recently unloaded on Rob Font after the latter suggested that ‘No Mercy’ was an easier matchup for him due to Sterling being a ‘tougher puzzle to solve’.
The Russian put Font on blast for not being able to KO Cody ‘No Love’ ‘No Chin’ Garbrandt this past weekend at UFC Fight Night 188, claiming that the No. 3-ranked bantamweight is looking to bite off more than he can chew.
Don’t try to bite off more than you can chew. You couldn’t even knock Cody No Chin out with your pillow hands https://t.co/vQ9H8E5ABH

“Don’t try to bite off more than you can chew. You couldn’t even knock Cody No Chin out with your pillow hands,” Yan posted in response to Font’s callout.
With Sterling out for an indefinite period due to shoulder surgery, Font vs. Yan doesn’t seem like such an unrealistic expectation. The two could possibly face off in a title eliminator while Sterling undergoes and recovers from surgery.
