A light heavyweight battle between two fellow countrymen has been reportedly added to a UFC Fight Night show in the fall. According to Combate’s Raphael Marinho Twitter account, heavy-hitting Brazilias Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker are scheduled to square off on September 25.

Currently on a three-fight losing skid, Thiago Santos (21-9) has lost only to some of best light heavyweights in the UFC in Jon Jones, Glover Teixeira and Aleksandar Rakic, the last one being his most recent outing, back in March. The 37-year-old’s latest win happened in February 2019, when he TKO’d the now champion Jan Blachowicz.

Once a rising prospect in the UFC’s light heavyweight division, Johnny Walker (18-5) started out his Octagon career with three straight knockout wins, but was then halted by back-to-back losses to both Corey Anderson and most recently, in March 2020, Nikita Krylov. The 29-year-old bounced back in September of the same year, when he scored a knockout over Ryan Spann.

Now, Thiago Santos is expected to take on Johnny Walker at an UFC Fight Night event on September 25, though a location or a headliner for the card are yet to be determined.
