Dustin Poirier is due to meet Conor McGregor for the third time on July 10 at UFC 264. However, McGregor recently cast some doubt over this with a Twitter blow-up that was caused by his failure to ante up a promised charity donation of $500,000.
Assuming the fight is still on, we can now expect to see it played out in front of a sold-out arena. Just now UFC President Dana White announced that ‘Vegas is OPEN!!!’.

In a short video message White said that the Poirier vs. McGregor trilogy fight at UFC 264 will take place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena in front of a 100-percent capacity crowd. “Ladies and Gentlemen, that’s 20,000 fans,” boasted White, who added that tickets are going on sale this week.
Poirier and McGregor first met at UFC 178 in 2014. McGregor won that bout by first round TKO and then went on to clinch the UFC’s featherweight title. Poirier moved to lightweight after the loss and went on a storied run that lead to a title fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Poirier lost to Nurmagomedov, but rebounded with a win over Dan Hooker last year. In January Poirier and McGregor met for a second time. At UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi, Poirier exacted revenge on McGregor, with a second round TKO victory. This was the first time McGregor has ever been stopped by strikes (in MMA).
