In a matter hours, the trilogy fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor is suddenly hanging in the balance. All of it was because of a donation dispute that the two men had on Twitter over the weekend.

Shortly after McGregor said he was fighting someone else, three top contenders offered to step in. The first one was Michael Chandler, who is fresh off his first round knockout win over Dan Hooker in January.

The three-time Bellator lightweight champion is already scheduled for his headliner title fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 262, but he doesn’t mind the extra booking.

The next one to come forward was former 155-pound champion Rafael dos Anjos. RDA, who won impressively against Paul Felder in November, seemingly wants to revive his failed matchup with “The Notorious” from 2016.

Around the same time, number 13-ranked Kevin Lee made his intentions known. “The Motown Phenom” hasn’t seen action since his submission loss to Charles Oliveira in March 2020.

The UFC has yet to release its official statement on the said fight. Until then, we have Poirier vs. McGregor 3 on tap as the headliner for UFC 264, which likely takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
