Stipe Miocic is not letting the talk of Jon Jones’ move to heavyweight distract him from his UFC 260 rematch with Francis Ngannou.

Miocic will attempt to defend his UFC heavyweight title against Ngannou in the main event of UFC 260 this weekend. The two first met in January 2018, when Miocic dominated Ngannou to hand the Cameroonian his first UFC loss.

With Jones likely to receive the next heavyweight title shot, a win this weekend for Miocic will set up a fight against ‘Bones’.

“Right now all I’m worried about is the fight coming up with Francis,” Miocic told MMA Fighting. “That’s all I care about. I’m not going to worry about Jon Jones until I take care of business.”

Miocic holds the record for the most consecutive heavyweight title defenses in the UFC (3). With wins over former champions such as Daniel Cormier and Fabricio Werdum, a win against Jones could put Miocic in ‘GOAT’ territory.

“No question [Jon Jones is a big fight for my legacy], definitely but all I’m worried about is Francis,” Miocic said. “That’s all I care about. The task at hand right now. He’s the only one.”

Ngannou is currently on a four-fight winning streak in the UFC, with all but one of those wins lasting less than 60-seconds. Miocic is adamant he will get his hand raised this weekend despite Ngannou’s excellent form.

“I win by any means necessary. I’m going to get that win. Walk out with my hand raised, belt around my waist. And still. Nothing’s going to change. You’ll find out come Saturday.”
