The UFC Vegas 21 co-main event delivered big time with the company’s #13 ranked 205-pounder, Ryan Spann, dropping the #11 ranked, Misha Cirkunov, twice and finishing him off with ground strikes in the first round. It was a mean orthodox right cross that first sat down Misha, and then a southpaw left hand the second time. The ground and pound was just about academic as Cirkunov was clearly hurt. What a win for Spann over a longtime UFC veteran.
Check out Tim Burke’s play-by-play of Ryan Spann’s first-round finish of Misha Cirkunov:
Cirkunov with a jab and a right hook. Head kick. He leads with a hard shot, but gets caught with a counter. Low shot from Cirkunov. Cornut cam confirms. They restart inside a minute. Jab from Cirkunov but the counter right drops him! Cirkunov back up and lands a nice shot! Spann drops him again with a wide hook! He jumps on him and takes him out!
