UFC Vegas 21 is set to blast off tonight from the UFC’s APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event will be the setting for the return of the promotion’s #3 ranked welterweight, Leon Edwards, who will be taking on the #13 ranked, Belal Muhammad. Bloody Elbow is here to provide you with the betting lines for this matchup, as well as for the rest of the UFC Vegas 21 lineup.

After missing the last-five months of 2019, and then all of 2020, Edwards is finally making that walk again and will be doing so as a strong betting favorite. For a cost of -240, a successful $110 gamble on Leon will get you a total payout of $141.67. That leaves Muhammad in the underdog slot at +221, with a winning $100 ticket bringing back $321 altogether.

According to the odds, thIs five-round main event will experience all 25-minutes. The prop bet ‘Fight goes to decision’ sits with a favored moneyline of -180, with the ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ option stationed at +150. A quick look at the numbers and it’s clear why the bookies feel this way. For Leon, nine out his twelve UFC bouts went the distance. For Belal, nine out his twelve UFC bouts went the distance. Well that’s certainly weird.

So, yes they possess a bunch of decisions between the two, however, there are a couple of x-factors to consider. This is Muhammad’s biggest step up in competition, while Edwards is taking a bit of a step down. That’s not really an x-factor, but it does provide excellent framework to whittle down their identical records to a more realistic experience level. Speaking of experience, Edwards has spent much more time fighting in five-round fights, and more recently at that. Can Muhammad maintain his pace for 25-minutes? We don’t really know yet. Also, will Leon show any rust from his time away from competition, and what sort of chip will be on his shoulder after the constant disrespect being thrown his way? At first glance, it seems like this one’s going the distance, but after taking a closer look, I’m not so sure anymore.
