Tanner Boser is coming off a controversial loss, and he’s hoping that he can bounce back against a man looking for his first UFC heavyweight win. Boser is scheduled to meet Ilir Latifi at a June UFC Fight Night event.
MMA Empire Canada (h/t BJPenn.com) was the first to report the fight.
Boser (19-7-1, 3-2 UFC) had a two-fighting winning streak coming into a bout with former champ Andrei Arlovski in November. The judges gave Arlovski the unanimous nod, but many thought that Boser had done enough to win the fight. His only other UFC loss to date was via decision to current contender Ciryl Gane.
Latifi (14-8, 1 NC, 7-6 UFC) has lost three bouts in a row, including his UFC heavyweight debut to Derrick Lewis back in February 2020. The Sledgehammer’s last victory came over Ovince Saint Preux back in February 2018.
The UFC’s June 5th card does not have a set location or headliner as of yet. The only bout of note added to the card is another heavyweight fight between Walt Harris and Marcin Tybura.
