We’ve all seen the viral bathroom brawl involving Oklahoma University football player Spencer Jones and MMA practitioners Braden and Walker Brown a month ago. But in case you were living under a rock, here’s how it all went down.

Reactions from observers were split right down the middle. Some saw it as “justice served” against Jones, who was perceived as the “bully” in the situation. Others are calling for assault charges to be filed against the two brothers.

On Thursday, Cleveland County District Attorney in Oklahoma officially put this issue to bed. Here’s the official statement from DA Greg Mashburn:

We have carefully considered the entirety of the circumstances surrounding the incident including a previous altercation between the parties and the actions that led up to the physical fight caught on camera by a bystander.

My office has decided that no criminal charges are appropriate as this appears to be a mutual combat situation in which both parties voluntarily engaged in a fist fight.

Jones reportedly suffered an eye injury because of the altercation, which required him to undergo surgery.

Meanwhile, Walker Brown set up a GoFundMe page to help him cover some “unplanned medical bills” and the time off from work he needed to take to recover from surgery. As of this posting, the campaign raised $66,568, surpassing its initial $50,000 goal.
