UFC 259 results: Amanda Nunes quickly submits Megan Anderson, maintains champ-champ status
Bloody Elbow 2.0 | Anton Tabuena

The UFC 259 co-main event saw the UFC’s double-champ Amanda Nunes successfully defend her featherweight belt by quickly submitting Megan Anderson in the first-round. She rocked Anderson on the feet, and then submitted her on the ground. What in the world could possibly be next for “The Lioness?”

Nunes rocked her foe early in the opening round, putting Anderson on skates. Every time she touched Megan, she hurt her. Anderson started to shoot for the takedown, but the champ landed on top and started dropping hammers. Nunes then attacked with an inverted triangle and then attacked the arm. Megan was forced to tap.

It was the first ever armbar win for Nunes, and it’s the second submission loss for Anderson, who wasn’t competitive for even a second of that contest. In fairness to Megan, hardly anyone is competitive against Amanda.

Amanda Nunes def. Megan Anderson by submission at 2:03 of round 1: Featherweight Title
