Nate Diaz slams ‘spoiled little b—ch’ McGregor for getting rematches; Conor deletes response

Five years on from their first fight at UFC 196, the rivalry between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz still lives large.

This past Friday (March 5th) marked five years since Diaz submitted McGregor, handing the Irishman his first-ever UFC loss. McGregor was initially scheduled to challenge Rafael Dos Anjos for the lightweight belt at the event, but after an injury forced ‘RDA’ out Diaz stepped up on short notice to produce 2016’s Upset of the Year.

Conor’s issued a response, but it was quickly deleted. The tweet said, “Southside crips unite!” Along with the hashtag #hitmeup and a money emoji.

McGregor would go on to avenge his loss, defeating Diaz by majority decision in their rematch at UFC 202 five months later. At the time, the event was the most bought UFC pay-per-view of all time. Only to be overtaken by McGregor’s fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

A lot has changed since the pair’s first meeting. McGregor has gone 2-2 in the UFC, most recently suffering a knockout loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 in January. Meanwhile, Diaz has only fought twice since the rematch, defeating Anthony Pettis by decision and losing out on the ‘BMF’ belt to Jorge Masvidal.

UFC president Dana White recently said the promotion is working on McGregor vs. Poirier 3 for ‘this summer’.
