The Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida will be tonight’s setting where the 54-1-2 Canelo Alvarez puts his super middleweight belts on the line against the 21-2 former WBC challenger, Avni Yildirim. Bloody Elbow is here to bring you the betting lines for this… dare I say… lopsided matchup?

Canelo is wildly favored here as he takes a bit of a step down in terms of caliber of opposition. ProBoxingOdds.com has Alvarez listed as a -5000 betting favorite to Yildirim’s humongous underdog value of +3000. To put things into perspective, a winning $100 gamble on Canelo would only win you $2, plus your hundred back. A successful $10,000 bet would only win you $200. Woof!

If Yildirim can pull off a win it would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of sports. Just a winning $100 bet on him alone would return $3100 altogether. Throwing $10,000 on a winning Avni would cash out a cool $310,000. I definitely do not recommend doing this, but the math is what it is, and the bookies have to find some way to get action on both sides of the line.

Canelo is expected to get a knockout here. The prop bet ‘Alvarez wins inside the distance’ holds a severely favored moneyline of -950, with ‘Not Alvarez inside distance’ owning a sizable underdog tag of +560. Going back the other way, ‘Yildirim wins inside distance’ is sporting a massive underdog value of +3400, with ‘Not Yildirim inside distance’ parading around at a comical cost of -9500. Odds like these could provoke the blood gods into unleashing chaos, but let’s be honest, who is logically picking Avni to win outside of his friends, family, and degenerate gamblers?
