“Sources: The Jake Paul-Ben Askren fight on April 17 will be staged in Atlanta. Second event for Triller after Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. exhibition in November. That one took place in LA,” Coppinger reported on Wednesday.
Paul fought on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. where he KO’d former NBA player Nate Robinson in the second round. The knockout went viral and Paul, who has over 20 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, started calling out everyone in MMA from Conor McGregor to Nate Diaz.
The 24-year-old eventually landed a fight with Askren and, although the latter has no professional boxing experience, ‘Funky’ is considered one of the craftiest veterans in MMA and has a wealth of experience against elite-level competition.
Paul (2-0 boxing) vs. Askren (19-2, 1 NC MMA, 0-0 boxing) will take place on April 17 in Atlanta, Georgia.
