Just hours before UFC 258 kicks off, news of one more cancelled fight has surfaced.
Women’s flyweight submission specialist Gillian Robertson won’t be fighting Miranda Maverick tonight due to a non-COVID related illness. This matchup was scheduled to be the preliminary card opener but now it won’t happen at all.
It’s been one hell of a week just for this card alone. We began on Monday with the usual full slate of 13 bouts, but then Pedro Munhoz vs. Jimmie Rivera was postponed due to Rivera’s positive COVID-19 test, Bobby Green collapsed after the weigh-ins on Friday and his fight with Jim Miller was obviously scratched, and now we have Robertson vs. Maverick off the card.
So we’re down to 10 fights. Maybe. There’s still time.
