Jose Canseco embarrassed himself again in his return to combat sports, losing a boxing match in about 10 seconds to a Bartsool Sports intern (video here). The former MLB star didn’t seem to be too badly hurt the moment he got dropped, but Canseco called it quits very early, and then cited a shoulder injury he sustained months ago.

Shortly after, the Barstool Sports founder and promoter Dave Portnoy accused Canseco of taking a dive and running away with the paycheck he claims to be over a million dollars.

“Jose 100% took a dive,” Portnoy wrote on Twitter. “We paid half up front and he got double if he won. We thought that would ensure he’d fight. We were wrong.”

The former MLB star’s character has been questioned many times in the past, and has had another controversial celebrity boxing incident in 2011. The event’s promoter claimed he paid Canseco $5000 in advance, before he supposedly no-showed and just sent his twin brother to the event instead.

Canseco fought in MMA in Japan back in 2009, where he was also quickly TKO’d by the 7-foot-2 Hong Man Choi.
