The all too familiar feeling of a fight day cancellation has hit UFC Vegas 18.

UFC officials announced just hours before the start of Saturday’s card that a main card bout between Cody Stamann and Askar Askar has been nixed. Askar was not medically cleared to compete and since he’s been pulled, Stamann obviously has no time for a replacement opponent. Stamann was originally supposed to face Merab Dvalishvili, then Andre Ewell, and now he gets no fight at all.

Earlier this week, Macy Chiasson vs. Marion Reneau was postponed to February 27th after Reneau tested positive for COVID-19. That fight was also slated for the main card before Reneau broke the bad news.

With Stamann vs. Askar and Chiasson vs. Reneau off the card this means that UFC Vegas 18 will have 12 bouts instead of the scheduled 14 at the start of the week. The start time remains unchanged with the prelims at 5 PM ET and main card at 8 PM ET, all on ESPN+.
