It appears as though Jake Paul will be boxing former UFC fighter Ben Askren in the coming months. This development comes after Paul exploded on the combat sports scene with a devastating knockout over former NBA player Nate Robinson (who is much smaller than Paul and seemingly had little to no boxing training).

Paul got his match-up with Askren after calling out others in the world of MMA, including DIllon Danis and Conor McGregor. The popular YouTuber’s antics—and ability to draw attention—have ensured he remains in the headlines.

One person who is not happy about that is UFC middleweight Marvin Vettori.

The Italian recently shared his disgust at the situation on twitter.

This Jake Paul bullshit is so disrespectful to all the real fighters

Fuck whoever is always trying to take shortcuts especially in this game

Hope I had the chance to punk this bitch in any training or fight

Blood sweat and tears is what this game is about and he’s none of this

Though he sounds intrigued by the idea of fighting Paul, one way or another, Vettori has a much more important and challenging fight on the horizon. On April 10th it is expected Vettori will face Darren Till in the headlining bout of an event yet to be named. The location for that event is to be determined.

Vettori is currently on a four fight winning streak. In December he came in as a short notice replacement to face the rising Jack Hermansson. Vettori won that bout via a lopsided unanimous decision. Prior to that win Vettori beat Karl Roberson, Andrew Sanchez and Cezar Ferreira.

That win streak came after a 2018 split decision loss to future UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
