A battle of hard-hitting heavyweights was reportedly added to the upcoming March 13 UFC event. Per Combate, seasoned veteran Ben Rothwell will take on the Professional Fighters League 2018’s champion Philippe Lins, though the location for the card is yet to be confirmed.

In his last outing, Ben Rothwell (38-13) dropped a unanimous decision to Marcin Tybura, back in October 2020. The defeat snapped a two-fight winning streak for the 39-year-old, with a TKO win over Stefan Struve and a split decision one against Ovince Saint Preux, respectively in December 2019 and May 2020.

Still in search of his first Octagon win, Philippe Lins (14-5) could be fighting for his job as he tries to snap a two-fight losing skid. In his debut, the 35-year-old dropped a unanimous decision to Andrei Arlovski, which was followed by a knockout defeat against Tanner Boser, in May and June of 2020. The Brazilian’s last win happened when he won the PFL’s grand prix, knocking out Josh Copeland in December 2018.

Now, Rothwell is expected to take on Lins at UFC Fight Night 187, on March 13, in a location yet to be determined. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a welterweight bout between top contender Leon Edwards and rising prospect Khamzat Chimaev.
