Throughout the telecast, our host, Matt Ryan, along with his co-host, Harry Terjanian, will be doing a radio-style play-by-play/commentary broadcast of every single important bit of violence. Tonight, the UFC showcases Lightweight Super Fight in the main event. In that featured bout of the UFC 257 PPV card, which is being broadcast from the Etihad Arena, #FIGHTISLAND, Abu Dhabi, UAE we have — POIRIER and MCGREGOR going at it for their much anticipated rematch bout.
Returning to the octagon tonight, we have ‘The Notorious’ UFC lightweight brawler, Conor McGregor, with a 21-4 record, after a one-year break from UFC action. He will take on Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier with his 26-6 record for the second time. The last time they met was at UFC 178 in Sept. of 2014. At the time, McGregor bested Poirier swiftly, via Punches at just 1:46 of the first round. But today, both men are very different people, as well as very different fighters, so we may likely have a different outcome, the oddsmakers say it will be McGregor coming out with the ‘W’ once again though. In the co-main event, we have a Lightweight tilt between Dan ‘The Hangman’ Hooker, entering the octagon with a 20-8 record vs. UFC newcomer MIchael ‘Iron’ Chandler, who will be making his long-anticipated UFC debut tonight – since leaving Bellator MMA last fall.
Also on the card, we have an exciting women’s Flyweight bout taking place between America’s Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye and the Scottish brawler Joanne ‘Bad MOFO’ Calderwood. Both ladies are coming at this off a loss, Eye having been defeated by Cynthia Calvillo back in June, 2020. While Calderwood was handed her defeat from Jennifer Maia in August, 2020. As if that’s not enough, we also have an exciting match-up for our featured prelim between up-and comers Arman Tsarukyan and Matt ‘Steamrolla’ Revola also at Lightweight; which will have been preceded by a fully-packed undercard with two sets of prelims. What a wild night full of fights we have to share with you!
