After five hard-fought rounds, it was Michael Chiesa who emerged victorious at UFC FIGHT ISLAND 8: ‘CHIESA VS MAGNY’. In a grappling-heavy performance, the ‘Maverick’ outworked Neil Magny on the ground en route to a unanimous decision win. On Twitter, professional fighters reacted to the contest.
I am a fan of both these men but styles make fights and I think Magny’s style plays right into Chiesa’s but the Haitian sensation has a way of negating his disadvantages. Let’s see how this goes.

What Chiesa is doing right now is how I expected this fight to go but can we count Magny out or will he be able to turn it around even with a good grappler with good grappling cardio? Chiesa’s not going to stop pressing the takedown.

Chiesa is a good enough fighter that he doesn’t need help from his opponent to win but that’s just what he got today. Poor execution and decision making from an experienced Magny. Neil typically utilizes smart tactics, not the case here. Solid win from Chiesa.
