Cory Sandhagen is booked to fight Frankie Edgar again. This time, multiple reports state that the bantamweight clash is set to happen at UFC’s February 6 event, likely in Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Sandhagen is currently the number two ranked bantamweight, while Edgar is ranked at number five, and the bout could have title implications after the planned Petr Yan vs Aljamain Sterling championship fight.

The pair was originally matched up for a bout last January, but it was scrapped when Edgar was moved to save a main event against Chan Sung Jung instead. Edgar lost the featherweight bout, but rebounded well when he dropped down last August and won his bantamweight debut against Pedro Munhoz.

The former lightweight champ in Edgar is now 39-years-old, but looks to be a much better fit at 135 lbs after his last bout. He will have very tough competition next though, as he looks for a title shot in his third division with the UFC.

While both fighters are known for their movement, the 28-year-old Sandhagen’s approach with footwork and distance management has been interesting to watch so far. He is coming off a highlight reel spinning wheel kick KO over former title challenger Marlon Moraes, which improved his record to 6-1 in the UFC, and 13-2 overall.
