Tonight (December 19th) at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas 51-1-2 boxing great, Canelo Alvarez, will challenge the 27-0 WBA and Ring Magazine super-middleweight champ, Callum Smith, for his titles. This title fight can be seen on DAZN.

In Bloody Elbow’s opening odds writeup for this match 10-days ago, we discovered that Canelo was sizable -650 betting favorite to Callum’s underdog tag of +475. In terms of these straight up moneylines, not too much has really changed here since then. Alvarez is still heavily favored, now sporting a slightly more attractive line than before at -630. Smith is still a big underdog, and his line actually grew some to reach the +490 mark.

What has changed since these odds opened up can be found in the prop bets. Ten days ago, the proposition ‘Alvarez wins inside distance’ was sitting with a slight minus line of -110. Now, the Canelo inside the distance option is trending at an underdog value of +125. On the other side of this equation, the exotic bet ‘Smith wins inside distance’ went from a +535 dog to a much heftier one at +894.

The odds are still forecasting this fight to finish up early, but the betting line for this particular prop has tightened up a bit. The wager ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ has moved from a minus line of -165 down to a less favored level of -135. The option ‘Fight goes to decision’ slightly shriveled from a +125 value down to the +115 region.
