‘UFC 256 – ‘FIGUEIREDO VS MORENO’ trucks right along in the middleweight division, where the UFC’s #15 ranked middleweight, Kevin Holland, violently knocked out longtime MMA veteran, Ronaldo Jacare Souza, at just 1:45 into the fight. Jacare had top position, but Holland dazed him with a punch from his back, and then knocked him out cold with another set of punches as he was standing up. Holland has won five fights in 2020 (which is crazy), and then used his post-fight interview to call out fellow prospect, and short-notice fight taker, Khamzat Chimaev for next week’s UFC card.
Jacare was quick to get a takedown to get things going, but Holland responded with a barrage of brutal elbows from his back. Holland threatened with a standing guillotine, but that resulted in Jacare taking top position. Then, Holland created some space with his foot and then landed a viscous series of punches as he was standing up. The blows were powerful enough to put Jacare out cold. Yikes!
