Even though last night’s UFC Vegas 16 main event between was hastily put together (after Kevin Holland tested positive for COVID-19), Marvin Vettori and Jack Hermansson put on quite the show. The Europeans went all five rounds in the main event with the Italian Vettori (who replaced Holland) getting the unanimous decision victory.
Media scores, shared by MMA Decisions, all favored Vettori. However, there was some diversity regarding how Vettori bested Hermansson. Bloody Elbow’s Dayne Fox gave scores of 49-45 (opting to give Vettori a single 10-8 round). BE’s Anton Tabuena didn’t see a round that heavily in Vettori’s favour and instead went with 48-47 (giving Hermansson rounds 2 and 3).
There was a similar story with the three official judges last night. All three judges gave Hermansson round 3, However, one judge—Junichiro Kamijo—also gave Vettori a 10-8 round. You can see those scorecards, and all the others from the event, below:
