Thanks to COVID-19 restrictions (which will get worse before they get better) the UFC remains landlocked in Vegas and their APEX facility. This weekend, at the imaginatively titled UFC Vegas 16, a late replacement fight serves as the headliner.
In the main event streaking middleweight Jack Hermansson takes on Marvin Vettori. ‘The Joker’ was supposed to be fighting Kevin Holland, but the coronavirus had other plans. The co-main for this one is scheduled for 205 lbs and pits Jamahal Hill against Ovince Saint Preux.
The prelims are headlined by Jose Quinonez vs. Louis Smolka (at bantamweight). The prelims also feature an appearance from Gian(t) Villante who continues his run at heavyweight and ‘Handsome’ Matt Wiman who continues to carry the torch for the best TUF season there ever was.
Keep your eyes on the scales. If the COVID-19 era of combat sports has taught us anything it’s that no match is set until both fighters are standing in the cage.
Video of the weigh-ins will be presented below (via the fine folks at AG Fight). The stream starts rolling at 12 PM ET.
