Less than a week after his short-notice fight with Rafael Dos Anjos that saved the UFC Vegas 14 main event, lightweight Paul Felder has inked a new multi-fight deal with the promotion.

Felder (17-6) has hinted at retirement on more than one occasion this year. Most recently before his fight with Dos Anjos, Felder said there was a “50/50” chance he would retire if he won the fight. “The Irish Dragon” lost the fight by unanimous decision but earned a $50,000 bonus for Fight of the Night.

Brian Butler, Felder’s manager from Suckerpunch Entertainment, told MMA Fighting Felder has his sights sight on another run at the lightweight title.

“It’s great to see Paul getting the love and respect from the MMA community and truly becoming the people’s champ,” Butler said. “We are happy to announce that we have extended his contract with the UFC and have eyes set on another run at the title. A lot of fun fights ahead, stay tuned.”

Felder has fought in the UFC since 2014 and is currently on a two-fight losing streak. The 36-year-old has defeated the likes of Edson Barboza and Charles Oliveira during his time in the promotion.

Felder also serves as a color commentator for the promotion.
