It seems that the UFC will give this female bantamweight pairing another try.

Originally expected to meet Ketlen Vieira back in August, Yana Kunitskaya saw the pairing fall through when the Brazilian was forced out of the card for undisclosed reasons. Although both athletes then went on to fight different women, it looks like the promotion is still interested in making that match happen.

On her personal Instagram profile, Kunitskaya posted a picture of herself and Vieira, hinting at a February 20 pairing already being set as the new date for their bout, calling it the ‘next stop’.

“Vegas was cold this time. But we will be back soon. February 20, next stop.” Kunitskaya wrote.

After Viera withdrew from their pairing in August, Kunitskaya (13-5-1) then fought short-notice replacement Julij Stoliarenko, whom she defeated via unanimous decision. The win came after at TKO loss to Aspen Ladd, back in December 2019.

If the bout becomes official, Vieira (11-1) will try to begin a new win streak after beating Sijara Eubanks by unanimous decision, back in September. The victory made the 29-year-old bounce back from her sole professional loss, a December 2019 knockout defeat to Irene Aldana.
