A women’s bantamweight fight between Marion Reneau and Macy Chaisson is in the works for a UFC event on February 6th.
MMA Junkie first reported the news. The UFC Fight Night event on February 6th takes place on Super Bowl weekend, and it is without a location or venue to its name yet.
Reneau (9-6-1) is on a three-fight losing skid for the first time in her professional career. All of the 43-year-old’s last three losses have come by decision, with the most recent being against former title challenger Raquel Pennington at UFC Vegas 3 in June. “The Belizean Bruiser” hasn’t won a fight since February 2018.
Chiasson (6-1) was awarded a UFC contract after winning season 28 of The Ultimate Fighter in 2018. The 29-year-old won her next two fights in the promotion both by stoppage, but she suffered her first loss as professional to Lina Lansberg last September. Chaisson rebounded by winning a decision against Shanna Young in February at UFC Rio Rancho.
The UFC’s February 6th event is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight fight between Alistair Overeem and Alexander Volkov.
