Max Griffin just got a big win over Ramiz Brahimaj at UFC Vegas 13. The win went down as a TKO, but will be remembered for a disgusting injury Brahimaj suffered midway through the third round.
After a grueling and bloody contest, Griffin tagged Brahimaj with some big punches in the final round. Those punches forced Brahimaj back towards the fence, Griffin followed with more punches and then some elbows.
One of those elbows thudded against the heavily caulifower-ed left ear of Brahimaj. The elbow appeared to separate most of Brahimaj’s ear from his head…
The top of the ear was literally flapping when referee Mark Smith stepped in to stop the contest, and likely prevent the first entire ear removal in UFC history.
A couple of twitter users were able to capture the moment Brahimaj’s ear was torn. Those videos are below, for those of you who aren’t too squeamish. There’s also a pic that UFC Pres. Dana White circulated to drum up interest in the event.
