Two former UFC light heavyweight title challengers clash in this weekend’s UFC Vegas 13 offering from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Both Glover Teixeira and Thiago Santos came up short when they faced Jon Jones for the strap, but with ‘Bones’ out of the division, both men are within striking distance of a new title shot versus new champ Jan Blachowicz.
The main event may be short on name recognition, but it could be high on upside. The co-main sees Canadian heavyweight Tanner Boser, who has seized his opportunities like few others during the UFC’s COVID era, take on former champ and veteran gatekeeper Andrei Arlovski. Another one-to-watch is Yan Xiaonan, who takes on former UFC strawweight title challenger Claudia Gadelha, for a chance to extend her long winning streak.
The prelim cards sees a couple of tough vets get the call, with Darren Elkins facing the 13-1 Argentine Eduardo Garagorri and Anthony Birchak returning to the UFC to fight former Combate champ Gustavo Lopez.
The weigh-ins start at 12 PM ET.
