UFC Vegas 12 has lost a fight on weigh-in day.

A women’s flyweight tilt between Priscila Cachoeira and Cortney Casey has been cancelled due to weight cutting problems for Cachoeira. Evy Rodrigues was first to report the news.

In an interview earlier in the week with MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz, Cachoeira revealed that she had recently been battling both COVID-19 and dengue fever, which affected her ability to prepare for the contest.

Cruz then reported that the fight was moved up to 135 but Cachoeira slipped and fell in the bathtub, which is surely what led to calling off the matchup.

Cachoeira (9-3) was looking to build on her KO win over Shana Dobson, which was her first UFC victory in four tries. Casey (9-8) is coming off a submission loss to Gillian Robertson, but she’ll be unable to make her return this weekend due to the last-minute cancellation.

It is not known whether Casey will be compensated. As of this writing she did not weigh-in, which is usually the standard for at least receiving partial payment.

UFC Vegas 12 is headlined by a middleweight bout between legendary former champion Anderson Silva and Uriah Hall. They both made weight earlier today so that bout is official for Saturday night on ESPN+.
