Sometimes things just get more violent and gruesome than expected in an MMA fight.

In Just 25 seconds into last Friday’s Taura MMA 10’s co-main event, Ary Farias became the new interim bantamweight champion when he took Johnny Campbell down and landed a grazing elbow to his opponent’s head. While not too powerful, the strike nearly ripped off Campbell’s ear and led to an unexpected TKO victory for the submission specialist.

On Twitter, Taura MMA shared a video of the fight-ending sequence, which also shows the graphic injury Campbell suffered. Warning: Viewer discretion is advised.

Taura 10 took place in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and also featured UFC veterans Sergio Moraes, Wendell Oliveira and Bruno Mesquita, though only one of them emerged victorious from their fights.

In a middleweight bout, Moraes dropped a one-sided unanimous decision to Jared Revel, while Oliveira was quickly tapped out in the first round by Rene Pessoa. Meanwhile, Mesquita became the promotion’s new flyweight champion, after beating Felipe Gheno via japanese necktie in the main event.
