The UFC 254 main card is moving right along and the middleweight division just witnessed Phil Hawes run right through Jacob Malkoun, achieving the knockout in a sporty 18-seconds. Hawes wasted no time here. He went right at Malkoun with some heat. He landed a strong right hand that dropped Malkoun, and then as soon as Malkoun stood up Hawes melted him with another savage punching combo. Some academic ground strikes came flying in before the referee had a chance to rescue the unconscious Malkoun.
This was the UFC debut for Hawes, who improves his winning streak to five-straight. It was also the second-fastest knockout for a debuting middleweight in UFC history. Phil is a talent that has been watched for quite some time now, and has officially arrived on the world’s largest proving ground and made quite a scary statement.
