The UFC begins its September slate with another Fight Night show from Las Vegas. In the main event, Alistair Overeem takes on Augusto Sakai in a five-round heavyweight clash that we can only hope is better to watch than Sakai’s last fight against Blagoi Ivanov. As for the co-main, Ovince Saint Preux takes on Alonzo Menifield in a matchup rescheduled from August 22nd after OSP tested positive for COVID-19. I think we all know that even moving the fight two weeks doesn’t put someone in the clear from COVID.
With Ricky Simon’s cornerman testing positive for COVID, he’s out of his showdown with Brian Kelleher. There should still be enough time to get Kelleher a new opponent.
