Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are here to breakdown the UFC on ESPN 15, aka: UFC VEGAS 7 event, with hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event in the player above or on our Bloody Elbow Presents YouTube Channel and BE Presents Podcast Network.

This Saturday’s, August 22nd., Fight Night event, broadcast from the APEX Fight Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, showcased a bantamweight bout between Pedro ‘The Young Punisher’ Munhoz and Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar. Our co-main event was supposed to feature OSP vs. Gamzatov, but Gamzatov withdrew, so our co-main instead would feature OSP vs. Alonzo Menifield, but then OSP tested positive for COVID-19 and we ended up with a brief co-main featuring light heavyweight ‘Slow’ Mike Rodriguez thrashing Marcin Prachnio to defeat in just over two minutes.

We ended up with a rapid submission from Joe Solecki over Austin Hubbard, an unexpected upset when Shana Dobson took out Mariya Agapova, a truly wicked 2:24 battle in the main card opener between Daniel Rodriguez and Dwight Grant, and preceding all of that — we had a brutal prelim bout for the debut of Muay Thai specialist Jordan ‘The Beverly Hills Ninja’ Wright, who had a KO/TKO result via a Doctor’s Stoppage (due to a cut) on Ike Villanueva at 1:31 of Rd 1. If you tuned in earlier, we also had an exciting featured prelim decision bout between Amanda Lemos and Mizuki Inoue. Overall, the brief early evening card was far better than expected.

Rounding things out, we were treated to POTN efforts put forth by Trevin Jones and Shana Dobson, and FOTN honors went to Edgar vs. Munhoz. Overall, the now dwindled down nine bout card saw four finishes in Round 1, with a total of five KO/TKOs, one sweet submission and three decisions; the main card ending in a split… what a fun night of fights we have to discuss with you!

This card has been riddled with problems, here is a list of the bout changes we have seen happen to the card leading up to event tonight:
