After a number of consecutive injuries left Thomas Almeida without a fight for two and a half years, the heavy-handed bantamweight finally has another bout lined up, Combate reports. Paired up against The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America bantamweight champion, Alejandro Perez, Almeida will try to snap a two-fight losing skid on October 10.

Almeida (21-3) suffered a TKO defeat to Rob Font, back in January 2018, and had a July 2017 unanimous decision loss to Jimmie Rivera before that. The 29-year-old’s latest victory happened almost four years ago, when he knocked out Albert Morales in November 2016.

Aleandro Perez (21-8-1) finds himself in a situation similar to Thomas’. The 30-year-old will look to snap a two-fight losing skid, with defeats to Song Yadong and Cody Stamman, respectively in July and March of 2019. The Mexican’s last victory was a July 2018 unanimous decision win against seasoned veteran Eddie Wineland.

Now, Almeida is expected to take on Perez at UFC Fight Night 181, on October 10, in a location yet to be determined. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a featherweight bout between top contenders Chan Sung Jung and Brian Ortega.
