The biggest heavyweight fight in the promotion’s history will serve as the main event tonight, with champion Stipe Miocic defending his title against Daniel Cormier in the latter’s apparent retirement fight. The co-main is the Suga Show, with Sean O’Malley looking to stay undefeated when he meets the streaking Marlon Vera.
This post will cover the preliminary card. The feature fight on the prelims will see Jim Miller adding yet another UFC fight to his resume when he meets brawler Vinc Pichel.
We’ll start on Fight Pass and ESPN+ at approximately 7pm ET with two fights. The card then moves to ESPN and stays on ESPN+ at 8pm ET for four more bouts, then onto the main PPV card at 10pm ET. The full lineup and schedule follows. The main card and top two fights will have separate posts.
Jim Miller vs. Vinc Pichel
Round 1 – Straight right from Pichel. Miller wades in but can’t land. Overhand left does though. Nice knee from Miller in close. High kick blocked. Inside leg kick from Pichel. Short exchange in close. Leg kick from Miller. Miller with a punch and a kick straight to Pichel’s cup. Cornuts cam confirms. Pichel just needs a few seconds. Pichel with a kick and knee. He lands to teh body. Miller with a counter left. Pichel with a right. Miller clinches. They trade knees. Miller with a hard one up the middle. Elbow too. They break with two minutes to go. Combo from Pichel, but Miller lands a left counter. Miller with a superman punch, but they collide and go to the mat. Miller jumps onto Piche’ls back againt the cage. Pichel tries to spin, but Miller stays on the back. Miller looks for a Peruvian Necktie. Pichel pushes his way out. Calf slicer! 10-9 Miller.
Round 2 – Head kick from Pichel, but Miller walks through it and gets a quick takedown. Pichel closes his guard. Miller stacks him up and pases. Pichel pushes off and gets up. Pichel clinching with Miller. He gets a takedown, surprisingly. Miller looks for a guillotine, but Pichel pops his head out. Miller’s head is against the fence. Miller has a really high guard. Pichel passes to side. Nice. Goes back to half. Pichel isn’t landing any strikes thought. Miller attacks a leg. Pichel defends. Short elbows from the top from Pichel. Body/head from Pichel. Body shots from Pichel, and he lands big at the horn. 10-9 Pichel.
Round 3 – Straight right from Pichel. He wades in for a takedown, and gets it. He’s looking for a kimura. He face it up, and he lands a few shots before settling into side. Pichel tries to pin him down with his leg, so Miller looks for a leglock. He’s on Miller’s back, with hooks. Miller spins out and lands a knee on Pichel, who was on one knee so it was legal. Miller looks for a choke and they flip over. Miller is on his back, and lands a few strikes. Pichel trying to get up. Miller rolls to try to sink a choke, but Pichel ends up on Miller’s back. Miller up quick. Two minutes to go. Elbows from Pichel. And a knee. Clinch battle. Another knee and they break. Pichel with a right and a knee. He looks for a takedown again, but Miller defends. Pichel with another knee. Pichel separates and lands a head kick. Miller drops for a guillotine. Pichel pops his head out! Pichel trying to land but Miller defends well. Upkick from Miller. Picel drops and elbow on him and a few strikes. 10-9 and 29-28 Pichel.

Felice Herrig vs. Virna Jandiroba
Round 1 – Leg kick from Herrig. Jandiroba with an immediately takedown. She’s working in half, pressing down hard on Herrig. Herrig tries to kick her away but Jandiroba stays on top. She grapevines a leg against the cage. She dives on a choke, Herrig defends, and Jandiroba mounts. She spins out for an armbar. Herrig is forced to tap. Wow.

T.J. Brown vs. Danny Chavez
Round 1 – Leg kick from Brown. Chavez fires back. He misses with a wheel kick. Uppercut from Chavez and a leg kick. Straight right from Chavez but Brown counters. Low kik from Chavez. Body kick from Brown. Leg kick too. Two low kicks from Chavez. Brown is tripped up by yet another leg kick. He’s forced to change stances. Brown misses with an uppercut. Chavez kicks low again. Chavez gets his Ali on. Another low kick, but Brown cracks back with a hard coutnter right hook. Low kick again. Brown wanted a takedown but couldn’t get it. Brown with his own low kick. 10-9 Chavez.
Round 2 – Guess what Chavez starts with? A low kick. They trade kicks. Lots of feints. Head kick from Chavez is just barely blocked. He goes back to the low kick and lands a straight right to the body. Knee to the body from Brown and they clinch. Chavez separates quickly. Body kick from Brown. Big combo too, and a counter left hook. Chavez drops Brown with a right! He’s all over Brown on the ground, but Brown manages to get full guard. Brown fights his way to his feet. The pace has slowed a big. Brown with a glancing right and a body kick. He misses with a spinning back fist. 10-9 Chavez.
Round 3 – Brown lands a right and looks for a takedown, but Chavez just dumps him off. Straight right to the body from Chavez. Chavez avoids another takedown attempt and kicks the front leg again. Brown’s leg is mangled. He’s still throwing kicks with it though. Brown wades in and looks for a brawl. Chavez doesn’t oblige, and turns away another takedown attempt. Nice 1-2 from Brown. Low kick from both men. Another right from Brown. Brown has yet another takedown attempt stuffed. Knee in the clinch from Brown. Brown trying his best to land and wear down Chavez. Right elbow inside the clinch from Brown. Two more elbows, and Chavez takes him down. Brown up, but dragged right back down. Chavez maintains a body lock but Brown rolls away. Chavez jumps on him and throws him a couple of times. 10-9 Brown but 29-28 Chavez.

Ashley Yoder vs. Livia Renata Souza
Round 1 – Yoder lands a kick and jumps onto Souza’s back. She’s up too high though, and gets dumped off. Souza is in Yoder’s full guard. Souza starts landing some big shots, forcing Yoder to try to get up. And she does. Low and body kicks from Souza. Yoder responds with her own body kick. Souza with an inside leg kick. Yoder with a front kick. They trade rights. Leg kick from Yoder. Another body kick. Souza charges into the clinch. Yoder with a front headlock and lands a couple of knees. Extended clinch battle. Yoder looking for a takedown but can’t get it. They separate and Souza lands a hard right hook. She dives in on a low single but ends up with Yoder on her back. 10-9 Souza.
Round 2 – Low kick from Souza. Straight left from Yoder. Body kick. Souza with a right hook that connects. They clinch. Long battle. Finally they separate with 2:45 to go. Low inside leg kick and a right hook from Souza. Yoder wades into the clinch again. Another minute gone. Inside leg kick again from Souza. Yoder ends up on her back in a strange sequence. She’s trying to attack a leg I think, but Souza wasn’t having that. Yoder is up but Souza is trying to put her back down. 10-9 Souza.
Round 3 – They trade low kicks. Yoder presses and tries to clinch, but Souza reversed position. They both land punches on the eventual break. Brief break due to a low blow. Not a lot happening in the final round. Lots of low kicks. Inside leg kick again from Souza. They trade body kicks. Push kicks from Yoder. Souza battering the front leg. They battle to the horn. 10-9 Yoder but 29-28 Souza.
Renata Livia Souza defeated Ashley Yoder via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
Chris Daukaus vs. Parker Porter
Round 1 – Daukaus lands a few shots and pushes Porter into the cage. Parker gets separation but eats a shot. He fires ack with a long combo. Daukaus lands a nice right. Low kick from Daukaus. Knee to the belly from Daukaus. Low kick. Another. Porter with a counter right. Daukaus with a big right and Porter goes down! He’s back up but wobbly. He’s trying to press the action. Left scores for Porter. And another. Daukaus pressures with punches and Porter goes down again from a knee! This time there’s no getting up, he got pounded out.

Kai Kamaka vs. Tony Kelley
Round 1 – Jab and low kick from Kelley. Front kick to the body. They exchange in the middle. Nice jabs from Kelley. He lands a low kick as Kamaka throws a right that misses. Left hook from Kamaka. Low kicks from Kelley. Right scores for Kamaka. Hard low kick from Kelley. Kamaka with a 1-2. Kamaka steps in with a hard lead right hook. He lands a good knee inside as well. Kamaka with a left hook. Body punch and kick. Jab from Kelley. Right hook to the head and body from Kamaka. Another knee scores for him inside. Kamaka seems to have Kelley’s timing now. Kamaka wades in and lands two hard lefts. Knee from Kelley, but he gets taken down. Kamaka backs out right away. Right hook from Kamaka, and three body shots. He’s beating Kelley up against the fence. Kelley comes back with a body kick. Kamaka dumps him to the floor. He’s in Kelley’s full guard. Kamaka lands a few body shots. He grabs a leg as Kelley comes up and lands a left. Hard body shot at the horn from Kamaka. 10-9 Kamaka.
Round 2 – Jab from Kelley. Body kick from Kamaka. Low kick from Kelley. Kelley catches a kick but can’t trip his opponent to the mat. He lands a body kick though instead. Left hook connects for Body kick from Kelley. Left hook to the body from Kamaka. Hard counter combo from Kamaka. He lands three more hard shots. Kelley fires back. They’re brawling now. Head kick from Kamaka. Kelley lands hard to the body. Kamaka dumps Kelley to the mat with a double. Kelley is bleeding from a forehead kick. Kelley up but is warned for grabbing the fence. They battle in the clinch. Kamaka gets another takedown. Kelley is up quick though. He lands a hard elbow, and a knee inside. Short elbows. 10-9 Kamaka.
Round 3 – Leg kick from Kelley. They trade immediately. Kelley lands big elbows in the clinch. He drops for a guillotine but there’s nothing there. Kamaka controlling position from the top. Kelley finally gets up with three minutes to go. Jab and right hook from Kamaka. Kelley lands in close. They both land uppercuts and body shots in the phone booth. Kamaka looks for another takedown.
