The UFC has left Fight Island in Abu Dhabi to make their return to American soil tonight at their APEX facility for UFC Vegas 5. The fight card will be headlined by the #9 ranked middleweight, Edmen Shahbazyan, taking on the #8 ranked, Derek Brunson. Bloody Elbow is here to bring you the betting lines for this top-ranked middleweight matchup, as well as for the rest of the UFC Vegas 5 lineup.

The 11-0 undefeated Edmen Shahbazyan has been perfect thus far in his professional career, and the odds imply that his unbeaten streak will remain intact at UFC Vegas 5. Online gambling sites across the board have Shahbazyan currently listed as a heavy betting favorite around the -320 mark. As for Derek Brunson, the gate to the top of the 185-pound division has been his to keep, really only falling short to elite competition. The oddsmakers and betting public alike are projecting a rough night at the office for Brunson, posting him up as a sizable +290 underdog.

Shahbazyan has a ton of finishes under his belt already, including ending his last three UFC fights in the first-round. As for Brunson, the UFC mainstay seems to typically have a great shot of either scoring the knockout or getting knocked out himself. It’s no surprise to see the bookies banking on this bout to end early. The prop bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ owns a heavily favored moneyline of -275, with the ‘Fight goes to decision’ option lingering at an underdog tick of +215.

With Shahbazyan being so heavily favored, and this match quite expected to end early, it makes total sense for the exotic bet ‘Shahbazyan wins inside distance’ to possess a favored line around -185, On the flip-side, the ‘Not Shahbazyan inside distance’ bet currently holds a plus value of +155. The bet-setters are much less confident in Brunson’s chances of earning a stoppage. With a hefty underdog value of +430, ‘Brunson wins inside distance’ has been deemed much less probable than ‘Not Brunson inside distance’ at -625.

Gamblers can also lay the price on ‘Shahbazyan wins by TKO/KO’ at a small cost of -130, or take the price on ‘Any other result’ for -110. For anyone giving Brunson a puncher’s chance and feel like gambling, then ‘Brunson wins by TKO/KO’ is on the table for +460, with ‘Any other result’ at a great minus height of -780.
