Here’s Seniesa Estrada (19-0, 8 KOs) knocking the living daylights out of Miranda Adkins (5-1, 5 KOs) in seven seconds on Friday’s Golden Boy Boxing card in Indio, California. Without doing any deep research, this is quite possibly the fastest KO in the history of women’s boxing.

Cool and violent KO that you don’t normally see in the 108 lbs division whether it’s a man or a woman.

Now if that video didn’t make it obvious, here’s the harsh reality of what you just watched: it was a disgusting mismatch.

Estrada is a contender in the junior flyweight division and a legitimately talented boxer. Adkins should not have been in the same arena with her, let alone fighting her. She’s 42 years old, 14 years older than Estrada, and her 5-0 record entering this bout consisted of exclusively winless opponents. It is wholly unjustifiable for her to have even been considered for even an emergency call-up.

In fairness to Adkins, she was a late notice replacement for the injured Jacky Calvo, who would’ve been a heavy underdog but certainly she was a far more credible opponent to face. With that said, there is literally no justifiable reason for the California State Athletic Commission to have sanctioned this.

“I give her so much credit and so much respect,” Estrada said (via Bad Left Hook). “She stepped up and took the fight. My original opponent had a knee injury, and she accepted the fight. I had more experience than her — amateur and pro. Once I let my punches go, I couldn’t stop. It’s a fight. I knew that it was gonna be a knockout, but I didn’t know how long it would take. God bless Adkins. I pray she’s OK.”

CSAC is normally a well respected commission but they dropped the ball here. I understand keeping Estrada on the card so she can get a payday, but this was dangerous matchmaking by Golden Boy Boxing and when approved it can get someone seriously hurt, and that’s exactly what happened to Miranda Adkins.
