Anderson Silva hasn’t fought in almost a year, but the former UFC middleweight champion expects to return to the Octagon very soon.

Silva recently underwent surgery for his leg kick TKO loss to Jared Cannonier at UFC 237, which saw ‘The Spider’ injure his knee after being blasted with a kick in the opening round.

The 45-year-old expects to make a full recovery and has promised to return to the UFC for two more fights, according to a recent Instagram post (h/t Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting).

“I finished my knee surgery. I will recover now,” Silva said in Portuguese. “I’m fine, and wanted to thank everyone’s support, and (thank) my fans that cheer for me. I’ll be 100 percent soon, and do my two fights in the UFC. I wanted to thank every UFC fan. I finished my surgery and everything is fine, I’m going home. Thanks.”

Silva is the oldest fighter on the UFC roster and has won just one fight in the last three years. The fan favorite is currently ranked #15 in the official UFC middleweight rankings.
