I’m trying to figure out what monetary obligation is compelling the UFC to avoid altering their intended fight schedule. Here are a few possibilities:

  1. Ambition: The opportunity to be the only live sport on television is too great to pass up.
  2. Obligation: The ESPN broadcast deal ties payment to the delivery of fight events.
  3. About number 2, maybe they can’t afford to miss a single ESPN payment because they paid themselves $300 million about a month ago.

Who knows? Maybe the fighters just wanna fight and who is our corporate overlord to tell us what they can and can’t do. They’re independent contractors, for goodness sake.

Anyway, both my kids’ schools have shut down as will most of NYC, but I’m going to try to do a couple live streams on youtube. I’ll keep you updates, stay safe, take care of yourself and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
