The MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada was the setting where Tyson Fury stopped Deontay Wilder in the seventh round of their highly anticipated rematch to unify the WBC, The Ring, and the lineal heavyweight titles.

Fury came out with stiff jabs and much more aggressive than the first fight. In the third round, Fury landed a bomb of a right hand that dropped his opponent. Wilder recovered and answered the count, but he was hurt. Fury hit Wilder with another bomb in the fifth round, but Wilder was able to clinch up and regain his bearings. Then in the same round, a crushing body shot dropped Wilder. The American made the count again, but then got rocked once more, causing him to stumble around the ring, but somehow stayed upright. In the seventh round, Fury flurried as Wilder was in the corner, landing cleanly, which prompted Wilder’s corner to throw in the towel and stop the fight.

Check out Tim Burke’s play-by-play of Tyson Fury stopping Deontay Wilder in the seventh round:

Round 7 – Fury actually licked Wilder’s blood in a clinch in the 6th. Wow. Fury with a left hook. He’s stalking Wilder again. Body shot from Fury. Left again. Wilder misses with a right. Another shot from Fury. Fury clinches as Wilder throws. Wilder with a three-punch combo that doesn’t land at all. Fury corners him and unloads! THE REF STEPS IN! TYSON FURY WINS!
